Lease or Rent a Home
This page is all about renting and leasing homes, particularly in New Jersey. Individual towns and counties where I list homes for rental will be discussed in greater detail below.
Why Rent or Lease?
Renting a home is an excellent option when you are moving into a new geographical area to live in. By choosing to rent or lease a home, you get a chance to familiarize yourself with the local real estate market and living in the area in general. This can actually help you become a better home buyer down the road as you will know the area better and you will thus know if buing a home is the right choice for you in the neighborhood that you are interested in.
Flexible Housing Choices
Leasing or renting a home is also highly advantageous when you need flexibility, especially before committing serious sums of money for a permanent home nearby. You can use the rental period to make your financial arrangements, move out of the previous home you just sold, change jobs, or save up money for the down payment on your upcoming home purchase. You also get the flexibility to try out different neighborhoods in the area near where you buy your next home.
Some home rentals offer flexible lease terms, and may be on a month-to-month basis. However, many lease agreements tend to be for one year at a time. This may be more realistic as you will need the time to become better acquainted with the area you will be living in, and to learn the market trends that impact your home purchase.

North Jersey Luxury Homes
Northern New Jersey, generally thought to consist of the counties of Bergen, Essex, Morris, Somerset, Warren, Passaic, Union, Hudson, and Sussex, is an enticing and enchanting place to buy a home. Luxury home buyers will find fine, high end homes in each of these counties. Prices tend to be highest closer to Manhattan, but there is a significant luxury home market halfway across northern New Jersey as well - in Morris, Essex, and Somerset counties where there is still room for new construction as well as brisk economic activity to drive continuing growth and development.
